Narwhal is a literary magazine from Vancouver, BC, that publishes well-told, intelligent and funny stories. The Narwhal tone is clear and accesible. The Narwhal story contains strong verbs and few adjectives. Narwhal writers take inspiration from Elmore Leonard’s golden rule: If it sounds like writing, re-write it. Narwhal Magazine accepts fiction, non-fiction, poetry, illustrations and comics.

Fiction, non-fiction and poetry for the web and print: previously unpublished work, usually no longer than 2000 words. Please send all text in 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, in the form below, which accepts .txt, .doc, .rtf, .pdf files.

Illustrations and Comics: send as .jpg, .gif, or .png files in the form below.
